Very Fresh Fish, Lovely Presentation. My family was on the way home from the ferry terminal and we decided to stop for dinner somewhere on the way. Edo Ya looked promising from the outside, so we decided to try it. We were pleasantly surprised; Edo Ya has become one of our new favourite restaurants. (Too bad we live so far away from it! <br/ <br/ I couldn't help but notice that one reviewer complained about the prices, but I found them to be quite reasonable. After all, when it comes to sushi, you really get what you pay for. In fact, the food at Edo Ya was a little less expensive than the restaurant my family usually goes to for sushi, but with equal emphasis on fresh, high-quality seafood...
The restaurant is clean but I had a most unsettling experience as I ordered my Japanese food dinner. I was greeted by a young woman who rudely didn 't reply to my Hello and are you open when I walked in and asked for a menu. I found a take out menu myself on the counter and asked if they were serving. There was no one else in the restaurant at all at this time. She was at the cash register and the restaurant was open. She then immediately said ' Waht do you want? I said; I will have a look Here 's how it went: So she said: What do you want? Recommend by a neighbouring shop owner. We had 3 lunch boxes and a volcano roll, and extra Gyoza. Every thing was up to par. We did not stray into too anything interesting. The boxes were all familiar and fresh. The sashimi was good. The volcano roll was a California roll with tuna and avocado and some spicy Japanese mayo. It was all good...perhaps a bit generic as others have suggested but not deserving of one star to be sure. A pleasant quick lunch
We had dinner here with a large group of family members and we were seated in a private booth. It was comfortable and the service was very good. Our server was very helpful in explaining different items on the menu and helping us find what we were looking for. The chief came out to check on us and make sure everything was good. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good evening. And the Sushi was very good. Réservez une table maintenant
Wonderful atmosphere and today at lunch I was greeted right away by a polite hostess.I ordered a lunch box and was happy with what I received. The roll prices weren't anything too special, but the tempura, salad, teriyaki, miso we're all good.A pretty good value I happily thought.I don't understand the $1.25 charge for green tea.I will be back and be a bit more adventurous with my food choices.so far so good.
Things started off nicely with the Tuna Tataki Salad, which was beautifully presented with a carrot flower on top. The tuna had a soft center, a pleasant smoky flavour, and a nice hardening around the edges. The salad was mainly lettuce-based, and the light ponzu sauce did not overwhelm the flavour of the tuna (though it was a bit too tangy and savoury for the salad itself).
Average. A lot of seats for a modern Sushi place these days. Pretty much empty. Seems a lot of Take Out here and that likely carries the day. You do not see the sushi being made but it is passable albeit a touch to expensive. Not a first choice but a good atmosphere and generally attentive staff.
This sushi restaurant is fantastic! The prices are reasonable, the food is incredibly fresh and authentic. I highly recommend this place. There is really nothing negative to say about it. The service is excellent and typically Japanese, always providing exceptional service. Réservez une table maintenant
