El Abuelo - Réserver une table

We had spent two days walking around Cangas and every time we passed this restaurant, it was packed. So, when we needed a good lunch, we headed here. We were not disappointed. Having lived in Spain and eaten in many restaurants, we can say that El Abuelo served excellent Fabada Asturiana and delicious roast lamb. Price was mid-range, but the food was very good. Service excellent even though the place was very busy.

El Abuelo, recommended by many on this site, worth a visit. The owner loves his job, loves his customers, smiles and delivers value for money, not more, not less. So we had traditional fabada (i recommend), anchoas (i recommend), a good salad and great vermut. We paid decent money, not too much, we had his infamous rice pudding to close and left happy. He delivered, i was happy.

We popped in for a light lunch. Shared the best ever Ensalada Mixta and Calamares a la Romana, accompanied by the most delicious glass of chilled Alberińo. Lovely restaurant, helpful friendly staff: we will be back. Every dish that was served looked absolutely delicious. This is a family run restaurant in the best of Spanish traditions.

Best dinner in Asturias so far. Family bussiness with tasteful honest local food, and generously served. Kind waitresses and warm welcoming “Grandfather” owner.

A great restaurant if you have a lot of time because they are slow and the owner is not that friendly
