The owner is a large jovial character who is almost always present and is willing to ope na bit early to cater for UK timing requirements. Nice house wines but no rose available by the glass."

We paid two visits to this restaurant last week. It serves a good variety of Spanish dishes including a lot of locally caught fish. On our second visit we had the Parillado ofPescado and Mariscos. A large platter of grilled freshly caught fish and shellfish : two types of very large prawns, clams, smaller prawns, a very large grey mullet(? and some other larger clams. We started with a tomato salad topped with marmalada and toasted pine nuts( pinones . Delicious. The Parillada was €25 for two. Very good value. I am not sure how we managed two desserts- but we did! Thank you El Ancla!

Fuimos desde el Rocío a almor,ar porque queríamos conocer la playa rompeculos que nos la había recomendado nuestra anfitriona. Lugar muy agradable para comer. El salmorejo estaba buenísimo. Pedimos coquinas pero no tenían porque se ha acabado la temporada. Pedimos a cambio unas almejas que estaban de rechupete. Unas gambas al ajillo dado que le gustan a mi hijo. De estos dos últimos platas repetimos. Pedimos también un secreto delicioso y de postre un tocino de cielo. De todo les he dejado unas fotos. Muy recomendable en Mazagón.

La calidad de la comida muy buena, aunque el servicio un tanto despistado. Me senté fuera en la terraza y tardaron 15’ en acercarse a mi mesa, gente que llegaron después fueron atendidos antes, me trajeron el primer plato y tenía el pan pero no tenía los cubiertos, me comí la pimentada con la cuchara de servir. Pagué con bizum y después de esperar 10’ para que me dijeran si les había llegado el pago me fui aburrido y no volvieron a mi mesa.

the comments we had read were pretty good, and the truth is that everything was updated. the table we had reserved had been given to other people, but they quickly solved it. the service was slow due to the great influx of customers, but it was very friendly and attentive. all we ate was very good, and at a reasonable price: shrimp, spider and meatball. highly recommended.
