It’s not uncommon for staff at other places to be annoyed at serving a customer after a lull, but not here. The waiter noticed I was having trouble seeing something on my phone and kindly offered me a sheet of paper with the WiFi password since reception can be tricky here.
As I glanced around, he asked, “What are you looking for? Need hot sauce? Here you go!” He also offered me some of their homemade hot sauce to try. When I mentioned my preferences, he asked, “Is baseball okay? Would you like me to change the channel?”

Great food, a bit cheesy for our taste and outstanding service! Stopped here the day after Xmas with a big group after a decent hike at Dutch gap. Chips and salsa, white sauce same good as the one on Parham near Regency. Special of the day Hawaiian fajita very nice. Son had the guac salad, which is pretty filling. Daughter didn't like the arroz con pollo, cheesy. Quesadilla Rica perfect with spinach or mushrooms they made us a complimentary one since the first was wrong I also liked a menu item tostaquac new to me. No extra gratuity for a large group.
As a California native, I always seek out the best home-cooked meals reminiscent of my grandmother's cooking wherever I go. I can confidently say that El Caporal has risen to that challenge! Their service is outstanding, and the food is incredible! I've tried everything on the menu, and after dining here three times a week for the past 12 months, I can honestly say it's the best around. Their jalapeño and habanero salsa is simply amazing!
The food and margaritas were fantastic! The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. Our server was exceptional, and we were so pleased with our first dining experience that we plan to return regularly! I was especially impressed by the generous portion of steak in my fajitas—much more than I've seen at other Mexican restaurants. The prices are also very reasonable considering the high quality and freshness of the food we received!

We normally go here when we don’t want to drive to Don Pepe (our favorite place). Because we live in Hopewell. I don’t know what happened yesterday because the food was just bland and no flavor. It was obvious they have another cook. Because even the food didn’t look the same. I was very disappointed because we always like the food. I will not return there again, and will stick to our favorite place.
The food is delicious, the portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable. The ambiance is quiet and cozy, complemented by excellent service.
Not the staff running behind customers who ordered take out to pressure them for a tip if they didn’t have it to give they didn’t have it to give
Great for take out, food is a high middle of the road in taste and quality. Would go back again when in the area!
