We saw other reviews of this, and when working out our itinerary from Barcelona to Andorra, we thought maybe we would try the restaurant. We passed right by it initially, and we were about to go to a random place by the road, but were a bit put off by the appearance and continued along the road and then saw El Celler, it was like an oasis in the desert. The reception was welcoming, despite our obvious traveller status, and with two kids in tow as well. The staff were friendly, went out of their way, but without being intrusive. All of us enjoyed our food very much. The paella with lobster redefined the term 'paella ' for me. It was very very good. The tempura style chocolate truffles dessert were most enjoyable. My wife and i also enjoyed the wine cellar (do mind your head though! and we were disappointed it was only lunch (we had to continue driving and could not e.g. Have the wine, nor linger too long . excellent meal and if we could manage to do a dinner visit somehow, we would. It is expensive for a family lunch in my view, but the value was very good.

El Celler de Ca la Quica is a typical catalan restaurant located in the little town called Puig-Reig, near Berga. At the beginning, we had to wait sometime, because we arrive the winter party day of the town (a celebration with animals, near the Saint Anthony Day , but after we can visit the very beautiful cellar, and the waiter recommended us an excellent red wine. We shared all dishes and we could taste the following ones: two starters, hummus and oysters (excellent! , two first dishes foie mousse and deer carpaccio the last one was spektakular! , two second dishes steak with foie and potatoe pure and pork meat (very good , a selection of catalan cheeses as a pre-dessert and cakes as dessert. A very recommendable place, if you visit central Catalonia. At the end, we can also taste two diferent liquors, which were very good.

We stopped off here on our drive back from Spain and it ended up being the best meal we'd had during our entire fortnight holiday! Yes, it's on the more expensive side but exquisite dishes and the wine cellar is beautiful (we got to visit during our meal . I had the rice and prawn main meal. My husband had the scallops in Iberian ham (amazing! . No kids menu but they did a delicious spaghetti bolognese for the youngest kids with us on request. The waiter/sommelier was excellent. He translated the entire menu into English for us, gave us some great suggestions both for food and wine. Out quick stop off turned into a 3 hour dining experience! Just fabulous!

Definitely worth a visit. The food is great, and the service is perfect. I have been here three times with my family. Two times we got to sit in a private room with a round cozy table, and was served by the owner. Nice ambiance. Once we sat outside in the tapas restaurant. looked like a beach with sand floors and cozy lighting.
