Hello, I went for lunch and had the Birria Tacos that are only served on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I have come to realize that this dish is missing some seasoning, notably salt. I say this as this is the second time I’ve had “birria tacos” at 2 different places, and both were missing salt. Now this could be my taste buds that, I hate to say, have become accustomed to the sodium bombs we find at one of the more non traditional fast food establishments (anybody making a run to the border soon?; wink wink. . I called and placed an order for pick up. The person I was talking to was friendly and took my order. When I picked up the food, I had no issues. The food was pretty expensive for a burrito and quesadilla. It was good but not 24 dollars good. I checked the food delivery apps and saw that they charge the same amount for in person orders as they do with online orders through Uber. There are places nearby that don't charge the Uber tax if you call and pick up yourself. I ordered a chicken burrito to go, and it was prepared surprisingly quickly. However, it was barely warm when I got it. The chicken didn’t even seem to be grilled before being wrapped in the burrito. On top of that, they charge $1.75 each for sour cream and guacamole, and honestly, the burrito lacked flavor. My total was nearly $15, and I felt that I would have been better off going to Chipotle for a more satisfying meal at the same price.
My favorite is the Chilli Relleno Taco! Also very good fries and quesadillas and I love the refried beans. And amazing horchata! Been going to El Famous since I was a little kid. Vegetarian options: Get the Chilli Relleno Tacos! Parking: In a plaza with decent parking in the middle

The elote was really tasty, but I found the price to be a bit steep. I ordered an elote, a small can of soda, and two Jarritos, and it came to almost $14. I'm wondering if the corn costs around $8? That seems quite expensive.
The food isn't prepared that well. The steak meat in the burrito I had had various sizes piece so some were cooked fine while other were tough to chew. It was very hard to eat. I do not recommend.
Very good Mexican food for Illinois. Steak nachos can be a meal by itself. The sopes were fresh and well made.
Renowned for their burritos, they also offer the best nachos within a ten-mile radius—guaranteed!
