The restaurant itself was lovely and beautifully maintained. The restrooms were clean, the dining area was impressive, and the service was excellent. However, my main issue was the limited accommodation for my preferences—I didn’t want rice, vegetables, beans, or mashed potatoes, but those seemed to be the only sides available.
I can see the owners are doing well, as the place was packed, and I understand that inflation has impacted the cost of greens. Unfortunately, that affected my experience that evening. The soup, by the way, was just average.

Definitely go for the combo! It's available all day, every day, and offers a wide variety of options. I chose the garlic blackened shrimp, paired with maduros and black beans, and it came with a selection of soup and dessert. The main dish was incredibly flavorful, with the garlic sauce being a standout that complemented everything perfectly. I opted for the tomato soup, which was decent, though not particularly remarkable. However, the flan I had for dessert was absolutely delicious. One of my favorite aspects of this place was the portion size; I didn’t leave feeling overly stuffed, but I was satisfied and had the chance to try several different dishes.
The US has a very distorted idea of what is a normal portion (based off people who left bad reviews). We just moved to the area and we had the fried grouper and a grilled fillet it was delicious!!!! They showed us the fresh fish before cooking. Noadditives, no over flavoring. Just good old fashioned fresh seafood. Is it pricey? Welcome to 2022 and high quality food. Theplace has a family feel, hope to become regulars. The food was fresh and tasted amazing! No wonder this place has been aroundfor 20+ years
I took my family to La Floridita while we were in the area. The menu initially seemed expensive, but they also offer a lunch menu with great options that included a soup. We tried the shrimp fried rice, fried shrimp, grilled chicken, and blackened fish fillet with mashed potatoes. Each of these dishes was only $12 and came with soup—unbelievable value. The taste was excellent, so we’ll definitely be returning soon.

I think this is my favorite place to eat in Miami. Clean, cozy, unpretentious, the environment was relaxed and inviting. The value for the meal was fantastic, both for the bottle of wine and the $12 combo meal, even with the two upgrades of $4 forlobster bisque and $3 for a small dessert. My partner in crime says authentic and delicious, will definitely return . Very,very pleased with my meal experience.
I visited this restaurant for lunch and it was a great choice. I ordered the scallops served with black beans and sweet plantains, which I really enjoyed. For an appetizer, I had crab cakes, which came with two cakes and were quite delicious. I also tried a small lobster bisque. The scallops were blackened and had fantastic flavor. I definitely recommend this place!
Took family here since we were in the area. Menu looks expensive ,but they also have a lunch menu with good options and it included a soup we had arroz Frito with shrimp, fried shrimp,grilled chicken, blackened fish fillet with mash Coach of thoseplates was $12. Unbelievable that they came with soup each. Taste was great so we will be back soon.
The food was delicious—the fish in garlic sauce, shrimp scampi, fish creole, and dessert were all outstanding. The service was excellent as well.
