I visited El Gato Negro Tapas Liverpool yesterday for some drinks and food, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Although the waiter who took our order was friendly, the overall service was disappointing. Our food arrived promptly, but we finished our meals without ever receiving our drinks, which took over an hour to arrive. Despite reminding the staff several times, the drinks never came. I initially tried to be patient, assuming they were busy since it was a Saturday, but when I approached a staff member to cancel the drinks, I saw that the bar was completely empty, with three staff members present—two of whom were just chatting. I hadn't been to El Gato Negro Tapas since their move, and I have to say it’s much improved! The new location feels cozier with enhanced decor and ambiance. The food has also elevated, with the tortilla now made fresh for each order. I particularly loved the courgette flower, although I’d appreciate seeing more vegetarian options, like some croquettes or similar dishes. I would have liked to order more, but I ran out of options!
