El Jimador offers the most extensive menu of authentic Mexican cuisine in town. They serve a variety of coastal dishes inspired by my favorite city, Puerto Vallarta in Jalisco. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere. The decor is exceptional compared to many other places in the area; the craftsmanship in the wooden booths is impressive. The live-edged bar is stunning, and even the bathroom floors feature beautiful murals and are consistently clean. It's one of my favorite spots in town. El Jimador is one of my preferred Mexican places right now. The food is typically really good. This plate was good. However, the lunch chimichanga is very small. Approximately 3-4 inches long. You can't even see it under the lettuce. I expected a smaller portion but maybe not quite this small. Service is sometimes better than others. Our server on this visit barely spoke. My favorite Mexican place in town. I go here any time I’m looking for something quick, reasonably priced and delicious. The portions are huge and the menu has something for everyone.
