We were taking a Saturday morning drive and found El Parasol in a rather unlikely place. Just off the road. Glad we found it. Interesting place. We had to order at the counter and they brought the food to us. The dining area is pleasant with tables scattered around. Comfortable. The food was good. We shared a bacon breakfast burrito smothered with green chile. All was tasty and the chile had some heat. I'm glad we stumbled onto the place. The only comments food was served on in styrofoam container with two very flimsy paper plates. Eating utensils were plastic, equally flimsy. We looked a bit at the menu. I have always enjoyed El Parasol........except this time. I ordered a favorite, Steak Burrito expecting the same delicious meal I ate in the past. It was soupy and impossible to eat by hand. There were a few small pieces of meat in the runny beans. I looked for a plastic spoon in the area where straws, napkins, and condiments are kept. There were no spoons or forks to be found. There was a long line of customers waiting to order from one of the two employees behind plexiglass so I was hesitant to ask one of them for an eating utensil. On a road trip from Southern California, we were looking for something local right off the freeway. Great mexican food, friendly staff. Food is reminiscent of so cal style taco shop, but the restaurant itself is nicer than a taco shop. We ate on the patio and the food was brought to our table. Evidently a local favorite. Many locals were stopping in for lunch. Great view from the patio and dog friendly too!

A good place to stop in for lunch. Service is always good and fast and food is consistent. A little off of the beaten path but still gets busy. Outdoor seating is nice as well. Homemade chips and salsa are tasty too.
