Recommended by front desk clerk at place we stayed overnight.Staff friendly. Cold chips and salsa upon arrival. Chili Relleno had little cheese in the pepper, and appeared to be a thin egg omlete wrapped around the pepper, no stem on the pepper. Not much taste to it at all. Chicken Fajitas were OK, more veggies than chicken, tortillas not fresh.Side note: Men's rest room had only one urinal which was covered and out of service, one toilet full to brim with green liquid. Shut door and quickly left.
Don’t let the simple outside keep you from going inside! I am so glad we stopped for dinner! Our waitress Nikki was AMAZING! She gave us great suggestions and was attentive throughout our dinner. My husband enjoyed the tamale, enchilada plate with green chili, and I had the stuffed sopa with the red chili. We shared a sopopilla with honey for dessert. One of our best meals in New Mexico!

Probably not the worst choice for Mexican food in a small town. We had fajitas and the chicken was OK but the beef was chewy. Beware that they charge $7 extra for rice! Would not go back. Parking: Parking is messy.

This is a fantastic restaurant! My wife ordered the stuffed sopapilla, and it was amazing. I had the tamales and enchilada plate, which I would definitely order again. Our waitress, Nikki, was excellent.
My in-laws live in Holbrook, and every time we visit them, we have to eat at El Rancho! The chips and salsa are consistently perfect, and the green chili on the chimichangas is always a solid 10!
Food taste bland. But we are from Louisiana where we live to eat. Shredded beef tacos have no taste. Relleno pepper taste like an omelet with no taste. Order a shoe, it would taste better.
My dinner here was delicious Mexican comfort food. The sopapillas were great, and the decor and little shop were very charming.
