We keep coming back to try other dishes and it is settling in as an Excellent restaurant. Love the 1/2 lb beef fajitas and the Carne guisada taco. Wife loves the Barbacoba taco and Menudo. Definitely worth the price as the cooking effort shows. Amazing handmade flour tortillas.Ok, have had 2 experiences here. Last time we did take-out and the review is below. Today we dined in and it was much better but still very pricey, but they do have daily specials before 3 pm which is the way to go! Today we had the daily special beef fajitas and they were awesome! Also tried a Carne Guisada taco and it was very good, trying the plate next time. Frozen Margarita with Casa Amigos floater was very good....
Simply the best TexMex restaurant I've ever visited (these rings apply to all El Tiempos). The food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are very generous. The Steak-Fajitas are the best I had everywhere. The meat is delicate, the vegetables are tasteful, and the salsa is a perfect combination of spicy and tart. My favourite item in the menu is however the freshly made tortillas. The only drawback is that I can only visit once a month when I am in town for work. If you are looking for Mexican cuisine, El Tiempo will certainly meet the point!
Our family visited El Tiempo on Cinco De Mayo. The restaurant was busy with the lunch crowd but we were seated quickly despite the noise. We were seated next to a large party, making it difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices. The servers were busy but provided prompt service. The food was delicious with generous portions, making up for the noisy atmosphere. We would definitely consider returning on a quieter day.
I have wanted to dine here for several years, truly a landmark establishment. Group of 8 of us landed there and felt like we got the VIP Treatment. Staff was all-over us with superb service from start to finish. Food was amazing and even the CHIPS were hot! 1st class for sure!

Best Tex sex in Houston. Had the Carne Guisada Burrito. It was spicy and full of taste. The portions are huge. The service is excellent. Margaritas are delicious. This is my favorite restaurant now and I will definitely come back!!
One of our favorite restaurants in Houston. The margaritas are some of the best in the area and the queen is also excellent. Fajitas are solid and the servers were friendly. In any case, others would recommend trying El Tiempo.
Classic Houston Tex-Mex where most of the staff has been there for years. Its expensive but an experience worth it. Went at 10am on Sunday for brunch and it was nit busy at all. House margaritas are top notch.
Fence restaurant, with old style still inside. Usually clean, but always is good to check. The food is delicious. The service is good. It was a pleasure to be here. Good time with friends at lunch.

Not my jam. The margaritas are a must, and I was sadly disappointed. I even asked for a drink they could make from scratch, but unfortunately even that...
