We got there and the hostess sat us right away. There was no available table so she sat us on a table that's been dirtied by the previous customer. Instead of having us wait in the waiting area. We waited for about 5 mins she came back and wiped thetable . She wiped everything to the floor. And now the floor is dirty with all kinds of food crumbs that wiped off the table. I have been going to El Torito for many years and slowly but surely they have been getting worse. We went in for dinner during the week. We were seated and had to walk through the bar area to get to our table. Then the server took a long time to come to our take our order. She was not friendly and not helpful. She served us and never returned to refill our drinks. We had to ask other employees for to go boxes. She did not make our dinner enjoyable at all. Plus the food is nothing to brag about. Price was right, but waitress failed miserably by serving the guacamole without chips since they weren't ready and still in the oven. Next time, serve guacamole at the same time with the chips. Waitress also failed miserably when she removed a used saucerfrom another table and placed it on our table. I should have pointed it out to her, but didn't because it was obvious there wasa slight language barrier. We ordered the dish with the four meats that serves 4. The chicken and beef were both overcooked!Kinda hard to screw up tortillas, rice, and beans, so obviously those met our standards.
Dinner at EL Torito Northridge never disappoints. We had the family style fajitas that's includes refillable sides like the corn cake and guacamole. The manager Wendy suggested the Cadillac specials for $7 dollars which is a steal. Martha was very attentive and alsways smiling and was very accommodating. We will definitely see you soon.

I usually have a very good experience at the Northridge location. Today-it was awful, it took more than 15 minutes to be seated, 1hr to get my food, which not only was cold, but human hair(I think) was cooked into my food. I tried to actually not give any stars, if I could-negative all the way
The food is very good, a little expensive but it's worth it. What's not worth it is waiting 1 hour to get in, another hour to eat, 2 hours, I don't think it's good.
Enjoyed our lunch today. 3.99% surcharge added to bill. Otherwise, as good a restaurant visit as we have had for a long time.
We went for the buffet, the food was fresh and delicious. We are definitely coming back.
