We were originally supposed to go to the branch of this Restaurant in Kendall Park, but found out that it had permanently shut down. So, we planned to come to this one, since they are both almost equidistant to our home. On arrival, we were extremely surprised to find it empty on a Sunday evening, except for three other occupied tables. We blamed the soggy and rainy weather for this, and proceeded to choose our own table. There are no more paper menus post COVID, so had to order from the scans. This is not our preferred method, because we do not get to compare items while endlessly scrolling, but, Oh Well…! I truly do not understand the negative reviews for this restaurant! A friend and I visited yesterday and the atmosphere was fantastic, the food was incredibly fresh and delicious. We highly recommend trying both the cocktails and mocktails. For food, definitely try the birria if you enjoy it, as well as the chicken and shrimp tacos and the pineapple habanero wings. Even though I wasn't drinking, the bartender/waitress was amazing and made me the best mocktail I've ever had. I believe this will be my new go-to spot for hanging out.
This was my first time dining at El Toro and all I can say is that the servers were really friendly, but the food was quite bland. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and found that the presentation was lackluster and the shredded chicken was a bit dry with no special seasoning or spices. Additionally, I ordered the shrimp fajitas to-go and found that the onions, peppers, and shrimp were all overcooked. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my experience at El Toro and do not plan on returning.
We placed a takeout order on a Tuesday around 5:00. The restaurant was busy, but it didn't affect us since we were getting it to go. I ordered the Vegan Loaded Nachos with Vegan Picadillo and the Vegan Empanadas (with spinach and cheese). Overall, it was decent. I'm not a fan of vegan ground meat, so I didn't eat much of that, but the rest of the meal was good.

The tequila-based cocktails, chips and salsa (for a charge), chicken tinga tacos, and chimichangas at this restaurant are exceptional. The homemade red salsa that accompanied the chips was delicious and unlike anything I've tasted before. Overall, I would give the food a rating of 5 out of 5.
The buffalo cauliflower bites were incredible- I wished I had gotten them as a meal instead of an appetizer to share! I ended up following up with a vegan quesadilla which was also good, but there’s even more vegan options that I’m looking forward to trying.
The food was pretty good, we ordered chicken Taco's with fresh Avocado ? very tasty! The atmosphere was pretty lit that night. It was a Saturday night. Pretty good spot though. Music was a little loud, but other than that. Chill spot.Food: 4/5
The burrito bowl with tofu and vegan cheese is delicious. There are many other vegan options to choose from, such as quesadillas and tacos. The menu is clearly labeled.
