In the past we have experienced the wonderful pies. However, they were not for us on this occasion - we wanted coffee and something for breakfast. The egg and bacon roll suited my friend, but not being a bacon lover my request was for something different. I was offered an egg and tomato toasted sandwich - and how pleased I was when it arrived. It was delicious - fried but not too fatty, tomatoes cooked so they were full of flavour and the toast was crisp. The coffees were excellent - and large. There is indoor and outdoor seating, the prices are reasonable and the service efficient and friendly.
Elaine's is listed as the best pie shop in Canberra. I'm not surprised. The pies are packed with goodies and the pastry is perfect. The steak and mushroom had large pieces of mushroom - not the usual occasional small piece found in most pies. The Mexican had no pastry, but instead a coat of melted chewy cheese. Yum.
Grabbed a chunky steak pie here for a take away lunch on 29/11/16. Omg! It was so good! Very generous filling; tasted home made and no gristle. The pastry was amazing. Would be good to try all the other varieties of pies they make here. Would definitely recommend.
A bit of a treat on a cold winter's day. A Cornish pasty. Just the right temperature and filled with a beautiful mix of meat and veggies all wrapped in a golden/brown flakey pastry. Yum.

Had the Steak n kidney pie. Stopped in on a trip south from Sydney. Full of tender meat and lots of delicious kidney. Great pastry too. Recommended

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat for breakfast and our group had three different types of pies that were honestly the best pies I have ever had!
I would definetly recommend the Apple Turnovers and the Steak and Kidney Pie because they are delish!! Definetly the best pie I've ever had!
