Elizabeth Bothams On Baxtergate

My family and I holiday 2 or 3 times a year in Whitby and we use the shop and restaurant frequently while in Whitby. We have yet to be disappointed with the service and quality of what we buy, drink or eat. The staff are always polite and are very helpful. We pop in for cake and coffee and then sometimes reserve a table for lunch. We have been coming to Whitby for around 8 years and Botham's is now a part of our holidays. Thanks to all the staff this summer, see you in October.

After hearing so many people rave about this place, I decided to check it out. Unfortunately, I was left waiting to be served while the staff just stood around talking. It seemed like they were more interested in socializing than actually working. I would not recommend this place until they address the issue with their staff. It's important for them to improve their service before it affects their business negatively.

I have no complaints about the sponge cake and hot chocolate I ordered, but the American influence in this country is just terrible. Customers were addressed as "you guys", repeatedly asked if everything was okay, and now the credit card machine prompts for a tip. The tea room on Skinner Street is nice enough, but I have no intention of returning.

Wonderful! The food and service were excellent as always. The decor was beautifully styled with a mix of vintage and contemporary vibes. The menu selection was perfect. The afternoon tea was a delightful experience, bringing back nostalgic memories for all of us and exceeding our expectations. Réservez une table maintenant

Would recommend against the hamper service the delivery is really poor. Twice told delivery happening it did not. Came a day late whilst birthday girl sits by the door waiting. Bothams blame the delivery guy. First time and last time. Such a pity we cannot support small companies

Went here for a quick snack and drinks but the way the elder member of staff was with customers and then saying things under her breath about my order of a cheese toastie, honestly just so rude she was happy to take my money though , wont be going there again.

Absolutely amazing people who work in this shop I have a very limited diet and they couldn't do enough for me I can't thank them enough They have gone above and beyond to help me out

Probably the tastiest afternoon tea we have had Sandwiches an absolute delight The scones JAM and clotted cream scrumptious If you go to Whitby do not miss this place Réservez une table maintenant

Gorgeous food, fab staff, been twice in 4 days for the lovely jacket potatoes, farmhouse cheddar cheese is the real deal!!

Popped in for a cream scone with a cup of tea. Lovely place , scone was nice and soft and the tea was amazing. Great value
