We had dinner here on the last night of a fabulous first trip to London and had an incredible dining experience. Our server, Marine, was perfection knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly yet professional. Honestly, the food could've been mediocre and we probably would've enjoyed the evening simply because she was our server but lucky us! the food and wine was extraordinary. Bread: That perfect soft/chewy inside, crackly crust on the outside, served with creamy salted French butter. Starters: Veal tartar and fresh vegetable salad (no, not lettuce...an array of fresh vegetables topped by a fried egg) flawless. Entree: Roast cod with an emulsion of mussels (all I can say is that we are making a big mistake with cod in the US by not figuring out how to make cod taste as sweet and soft and buttery as what I ate tonight) and sweetbreads excellent, I would not change one thing about their taste or presentation. Wine: Yann guided us to a perfect Mersault (Domaine Martelet). He has the ideal personality for a sommelier knowledgeable but approachable, professional but relatable, and he has perfected the art of the timing of glass refilling. Dessert: Lemon curd cake and I forget the name of it a rich, creamy raspberry/strawberry mousse wrapped in a Hershey's kiss shaped meringue. My husband said the coffee was the best he'd had in London (and we had great coffee here). Gorgeous room light wood floor, dark wood tables. Grey walls, beautiful windows, soothing softly colored upholstered side chairs contrasting with slightly bolder teal color bench seating. Whoever coordinated the lighting is an artist lots of ceiling micro spotlights that bathe the room in a calm, quiet glow. An ideal dinner to end a wonderful visit to London.

the elystan street is a great restaurant: attractive layout that encourages the diners to focus on eating and their companions; a great wine list with some surprisingly affordable and great crying; a creative menu with delicious food; an extraordinary staff that is both unobtrusive and very attentive. it is a great neighboring restaurant that replaces tom aitken and adds others (pelicano, etc.). fun place, and we had a great table that looked over the room. we had to start the strozzapretti scallop raviolo, followed by the cadjau and the turbot, and finished with the bitter chocolate mousse. we drank a 1/2 carafe Pinot-Grgio and a bottle of lalande de pomerol. everything was very ggod. I have to agree with others that eating was very good, but not wow. to be picky: the cod had the half of the plate separated with a great glamour of pure cauliflower (jarring, and a bit dated now, and a jump of 'skin wobble rings' (they were added to the meal delicious, but. . I mention that because the food part of the bill was 210 (wine was 55). for two appetizers, two main thing and one common dessert. that is a money to be consecrated. another thing that did not harass us (in contrast, it was loud. for us it was a funny mood. but for others I recommend going early (we went around 9 o'clock or a middle day of the week. overall, really great and I recommend elystan street.

fantastic culinary experience in the heart of a relatiw sleek chelsea restaurant scene. that was an urgently needed supplement. I really believe that the roasted seasonal vegetables with cashew hummus, curry oil and dead beats were possibly the best sweet dish I ever had. I also had the bass carpaccio, who was more of a ceviche and absolutely excellent. my main course was the filet of kabeljau with cured flower charcoal, golden rosins (personally I think this dish could do without the rusts), coriander and lime, while my father had the grouse. all dishes were tasteful and interesting, while at the same time light and healthy. we have finished our meal with the cheese plate wonderfully! the service was attentive and the sommelier was knowledgeable and friendly. thank you, elystan street! I can't wait to go back.
