Had yum Cha this morning with friends from Canberra. My friend wanted rice, so we ordered the steam pork ribs with rice. The dish arrived and literally looked rice rice chucked in a metal pot with a dish of the steamed yum Cha pork ribs chucked on top. We did not enjoy the food and when I commented to the bossy lady at the counter that $13.80 was expensive for the above dish served to us, her come back was astonishing .... " Do not come back to eat here if you think our prices are expensive ... We have plenty of customers who are happy to pay!!". This kind of behaviour is unacceptable in today's service industry. Even if she is the boss, she needs to realise the golden rule in the service in...

Went there todayOrdered a few dishes - some as pricey as a whole takeaway main! 1)Calamari - very very oily sloppy and cold2)Spring rolls - not too bad3)Pork dumpings - pastry tasted like 1 inch thick, dont even know if it was pork! 4)Green beans and mince - nice 5)Pork Belly - not too bad, not overly crispy. 6)2 normal teas.Guess what this cost!???? $80! We were charged something called a "cover charge" - when we asked what that was, it was for "the sauces - soy and chilli) OMG one we didnt ask for them, two where have you ever had to pay for soy sauce!?????? Overall utterly disappointed with the prices, the taste, the sneaky pricing, for what we ate I was so angry with myself for wasting s...

House of Tong _____ recently refurbished Chinese restaurant located in the North Ryde RSL. We went for dinner Saturday night and I must say it was fully booked, we managed to get a table as we had no booking. The food that we ordered was very average, and overpriced, at the very best. It had no love, it was just very bland. The service is very slow and staff seem lost not friendly. I must confess we have had much better Cantonese cuisine elsewhere. Overall a very poor experience not what we except for a Chinese restaurant. What a wasted Saturday night, and without doubt will not be returning here in a hurry.

We used to come here all the time and really enjoyed it, and were sad when it closed for renovations.Coming back for the first time since the renovations, we found new (and expensive looking) decor. I didn't think it needed that much of a change. The biggest surprises were the rude staff and the high prices. The guy looking after our table had to be reminded 3 times for every request (water, forks for the kids, etc). What used to cost us about $60 for the 4 of us was now $108. Outrageous. We won't be back.We will be going to the Marigold in the city for a better experience and cheaper prices!! Réservez une table maintenant

What a disappointment - the mango pancakes were the highlight of the evening, long beans and mince very good but the staff were conspicuous by their lack of attention, we could have been invisible, waited quite a while after we had ordered for our selections- had to request water, ordered tea when we arrived ,however no-one came back to see if we wanted wine. Restaurant was not very busy but we had difficulty attracting staff to fulfil our requests, very noisy - be aware of the surcharge when using a credit card- will think long and hard before coming back.

New name new decor. ..now unfriendly staff. Arrived we had no booking and boy did we get attitude from a girl calked Una. Its an rsl club honey drop the attitude. Seated and rushed to order. Yes food was lovely and menu has been drastically culled. Finished my meal and my plates taken..Husband still eating..bad ediquette people. Felt that we needed to leave. Sevice bad. You can change the decor and name but you have lost the person abilities of great staff.

Yum Cha used to be affordable but my visit today was a huge shock! The Breakdown consisted of Chinese tea $2.00 per person. The 4 x Medium Yum Cha Dishes were $7.80 for each dish. This was spring rolls, sticky rice, chicken feet, and pork dim sum. Then the killer was the prawn dumpling serving at $9.80 each dish (8 prawns in pastry) and fried calamari - also at $9.80. Definitely won't be this venue again any time soon.

Always found this place to be great value and the food above average. Undergoing a facelift at the moment I notice, just hope it returns soon as it was, from a food and service prospective. Very family friendly and the owners and staff always very accommodating. Réservez une table maintenant
