We have eaten twice at British Offerings and both times we had Fish and Chips , Cod being the Fish they use. My Wife is from Northern Ireland and I myself spent many summers there as My Mom is from Northern Ireland as well and British Offerings Fish and Chips would make you think you had walked down to the local Chippy to get your Fish and Chips on any given day. The Fish is without a doubt the same as I would have gotten from the local Chippy, crisp outside and moist and flaky inside and with a bit of salt and vinegar your in heaven. Our first visit to this charming little restaurant tucked away from the busy streets of Media was a delightful experience! We ordered the fish and chips, the daily special scones, and a potato, onion, and cheese pie. The fish was incredibly fresh, lightly battered, and perfectly fried. Honestly, I've never had fish and chips prepared this well—it was fantastic! The scones were also delicious, flavored with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg, and served with clotted cream (think of it as whipped butter for those unfamiliar). We haven't tried the pie yet since we filled up on the other dishes (which were quite filling), so it's in the fridge for later. I highly recommend this place!
This is a lovely restaurant with wonderful people at the helm. However, it feels more like a hobby than a professional business. The fish is delicious, but the fries left something to be desired. They frequently run out of various menu items, hardly ever answer the phone, and often seem to be closed when we drive by. I'm puzzled by how they manage to stay in business. I'd love to be able to visit spontaneously, but that's just not feasible. While the freshness of the food is impressive, if they want to grow their business, they need to have more consistent hours and consider hiring additional staff.
The service was extremely slow; I waited an hour for my order, which is frustrating given that they’re only open two days a week. I overheard them telling another customer that they both have day jobs during the week, which is why their hours are so limited. They also mentioned that the cost of frying oil has increased, which seemed to add to their negativity. It felt like the owners weren’t interested in providing quality English food or running a business they seemed reluctant to engage in. Overall, I was left very dissatisfied.

My wife and I had gotten English Offerings today for dinner. We ordered their fish and chips as well as bangers and mash. Food was absolutely amazing. By FAR the best fish and chips we ever had. So much flavor in addition to the size of the cod filet-man oh man! Owners were also incredibly sweet. All around, a new gem that we found in Media, and we couldn’t be happier. You will NOT be disappointed!
Ordered ahead online. I was in and out in a matter of seconds. The fried fish was some of the best I’ve ever had. High quality and fried perfectly crispy. The smoked pork sandwich was also really good. I will definitely be back!
SO GOOD. Recently tried English Offerings for the first time. I got the fish and chips. I was not disappointed. Can’t wait to try other items on the menu.
Best fish chips I've ever had, and the sticky taffy pudding was dope. Excellent presentation. Y'all do need to salt your fries more, though.
