this is the sadst critique I have ever written for open tables. someone allowed so much talent to share by choosing to close this restaurant. I'm so sad about it, but I'll follow the staff where they go. I wish someone had invested in the chef, vs. sold to one of the great names, vetri: who has become so grouped, all about the benjamins the Philadelphia/Vorstadt scene becomes too small, with only one handful of chefs who have everything. it is time for new, individual talents to possess and put their love in their own food and to make a connection with the people they feed.
we travel almost an hour to come here because we love steve and all the staff, especially oscar, who was our personal waiter for the whole pandemic. we are really crushed that they are closing tonight, but we are so grateful for the great meals and reminders we had here. we wish them all good where they land!
