I visited with 43 eighth grades on a French class trip, and we had a very memorable evening. We started with dog sledding and then came into the lodge for a traditional meal of bean soup, pork pie, baked beans, egg souffle, cold ham (would have preferred warm), fried potatoes (my favorite!) and oreilles de crisse (ugh - I'm a fan of cracklins, but these were awful)). Of course, there maple syrup available to put on everything! There was entertainmnet during dinner, with dancing afterward. Next, we went into the sugar shack and watched a video (informative if a bit dry) and made maple butter by stirring syrup with a stick for 10 minutes.
