Absolutely fantastic place! The staff is wonderful, the gardens are stunning, and the collection of historic furniture and paintings is remarkable. The facilities are excellent, featuring convenient toilet arrangements, a well-stocked gift shop, and a lovely café that serves delicious meals suitable for all ages. The tours of the house were both friendly and informative, with a wealth of personal insights. The use of an "interview" technique during the tours was brilliant and engaging for both children and adults! House of Dun is family-friendly and dog-friendly too. There are lovely walks and a playground, and while dogs are not allowed in the main house, they are welcome in the café, where...

I spent a lovely day visiting the house, out buildings, gardens, cafe and shop. Friendly, helpful staff on hand. If visiting the house be aware of a few flights of stairs inside the building. The knowledgable guide offers seating stops on the tour. Parking is to the left of the building on a slight gradient but a short way from the house. Disabled parking available at the side of the house.

Parked and paid £3) well worth it did walks lots of paths making it as long or short as you wish. Walled walk lovely established trees and plants. Cafe was closed on a tues/wedns and we were too late for tour of the house but walked round the grounds. It was a beautiful day adding to our enjoyment but want to go back at other seasons as the colours and views will change.

One of the most enjoyable experiences with the National Trust! The presentation by the property manager and the lady of the house, immersing us in life as it was in the 1800s, was unique, entertaining, and felt like following a captivating story. We were thoroughly impressed and would love to return to explore some of the grounds. Definitely worth a visit! Réservez une table maintenant

The experience at the restaurant is truly immersive, with staff dressed as the former inhabitants of the house. The gardens are stunning, providing a lovely backdrop. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by the soothing sound of piano music. The facilities are excellent, and there’s even a playground with numerous spots perfect for a picnic.

A lovely day out. Really interesting guided tour throughout the house by knowledgeable and friendly guides. Lovely food in the cafe with very friendly waiters and waitresses. Pleasant walks in the grounds especially to the old walled garden.

Beautifully restored buildings with interesting exhibitions on the outbuildings around the courtyard. Decent cup of coffee too!
