Esplanade Hotel - Réservation de table

This restaurant is clearly getting patronage due to its beach views/ lunch deals/ seniors menu! Because if it was for the food and facilities, I'm positive no one would go.  Gave it a try during the school holidays. Very busy, and met with a group. Kids loved playing together in the playground AFTER i needed to get staff to come in and clean the pig stye up. There were wrappers and half drunk drinks open in there - great for little kids to drink the next day. When i pointed to a large area full of filth, including some kids socks from god knows when, i was told "oh well the kids can't access there anyway". Myself and another mum ended up removing the filth from the accessible areas. FOU...

The best feature of this place is when the blinds are opened and you can see the wonderful view. But the overall experience was stressful, mainly as they seem understaffed. Booking was stuffed up and arrived to find table set for 10 not 13. Was only when I went back to show my phone with exact times I had rung to make booking that another table was added. Took ages to order. Stood in line for at least 20 minutes. The food was good. Some meals better than others. Pie says it is served with mushy peas but they were cooked mashed peas. But to be fair, everyone enjoyed their food. Would not go back - they need more staff who are not run off their feet and it would have been a much more enjoy...

Great if you are on a diet - lovely tasty roasted veg with the smallest steak money can buy. When we gave feedback direct to the chefs that the veg were tasty but the steak on the small side the chefs replied yes we agree sometimes when our steaks arrive from the supplier they look more like minute steaks....cant believe they still serve them even though they acknowledge they are smaller than the advertised size in their menu. Plenty of places to eat around glenelg and brighton so dont bother going to The Esplanade unless you are not very hungry or are on a diet. Réservez une table maintenant

Pretty average pub fare that gets by purely on location alone. As you can see, there's still lipstick on the glass from a previous patron. I didn't realise til I'd already consumed most of my drink. What a sickening feeling.

I enjoyed my steak , my daughter loved her salad , dad's bruschetta was very average , my son's schnitzel ok. One waitress/bar tender on rushed off her feet. Not great but not bad

This is an excellent steak , the service was good, fantastic food ????, and lots of little touches which make the meal. Well worth a visit for steak lovers.

Unfortunately, while it bears the name of the famous pub in Melbourne's St Kilda, you won't find any rip roaring live acts playing here on a Saturday night Réservez une table maintenant
