I can’t believe I didn't know about Ethio Beans until a month ago. I am so jazzed, I don't have to drive to Chicago anymore to get my fix of eating with injera generous portions of door wat, misir wat, and tibs. The space is simple, with a few tables, and some decorations, with a small shop where one can buy Ethiopian closing, coffee sets, and food ingredients. Service was warm and friendly, we had a nice conversation with the owner/cook/server about Erhiopia I got to share my experience when visiting my daughter in Aleltu. Lamb tebes so tasty you will want to sop up every last drop of the sauce with their fresh, aromatic, 100% teff flour injera and go back for more. A flavorful assortment of vegetarian dishes alongside the excellently cooked meats, not to mention the kind, welcoming staff. Having this gem of a spot in the suburbs is a dream come true for those out here with gluten intolerance or other dietary restrictions seeking good eats closer than Chicago; they list common allergens for each option on the menu! Lady Owner who served us was super sweet. Definitely try the combo to get a little of everything. I split with one person and we took some home, three people could finish. *Eat with your hands/use bread to pick-up. I will come back to try the coffee ritual.
One of the most unique restaurants in the burbs. If you don’t want to drive all the way to the city to get some Ethiopian food, this is the place! Will definitely go back.
