Everest Indian Restaurant

My wife and I were frequent patrons of this restaurant in it's early years, enjoying the "regional banquet" specials with chefs flown out from India for the occasion. Service was always excellent, and still is. But servings grew smaller, and prices grew higher. So for many years, we got only the occasional take-away. Decided to dine in for the first time in years. Same menu, except for the addition of 'angus beef' and 'saltbush lamb'. We had the chicken vindaloo. Described as "very hot, sweaty, Goan preparation" We did not find it hot, sweaty or Goan. It was more like a generic sauce, intended to cover all bases. The fish tikka, served in a sizzle platter was the best dish, and the vegetable...

I first ate at Everest over 20 years ago, been a regular diner since then and went again last week. The food has always been excellent with gentle and responsive service. They do all of the standby Indian dishes beautifully and couple them with great local beers and wines if you like. I will certainly continue to eat at Everest because they have never disappointed me. And they do takeaway in a handy cardboard box with handles...

Insipid service and uninspiring food. Meal came out in a few minutes meaning it wasn't given much attention. Flavours lacking any real taste, with the curry a generic sauce . Would have been fine 10 years ago but the melbourne curry scene has advanced significantly in the last 5 years.And it wasn't cheap Not good enough

Though the restaurant was nearly empty on a Friday night, my Mum and I were keen for an Indian meal, so we ventured in anyway. Turns out we had nothing to worry about, the food was tasty and reasonably priced, with both meat and vegetarian dishes full of flavour and spice.Looking forward to our next visit! All good but ready for a revamp of the menu. It's been in fairfield for many a long year, but gee it needs a refresher, the owners are ready to retire and the restaurant reflects this. Hardly anyone dining in these days but the take away is still good.

The service at Everest is very attentive. The food is authentic and tasty and plentiful. Enjoy a drink prior to dinner at the new bar and dinner will be a pleasure, The host is very accomodating.

The food here isso delicious and the service is fantastic. Even the Indian cricket team thinks so, lots of pics on the walls to testify this. Great local for Indian, often open till late!

With 2 little grandchildren in attendance service was a bit patchy but the food was very pleasant.I had the Rogan Josh which was scrummy.Corkage is cheap so a good solid night out Réservez une table maintenant

$AU200 for 4 adults. Delicious food. Great wine bar next door to restaurant. Recommend the Chicken Tikka (number 31) as the most delicious I have ever tasted.
