Second visit: just so first time wasn't a fluke of good food. Ordered a chicken tikka biryani again and again, was the most tastiest biryani I've ever had, 15 years eating biryanis I've become somewhat of an expert therefore can say it was delicious to that level.... Family ran restaurant, spoke to a young gentleman (Abs) and he was telling me the family having been in business for 12 years but the restaurant was established over 25 years, it's somewhere, where the traditional Indian restaurant feeling has remained, nothing too fancy just tasty Indian food,. I came with business associates and one had ordered a lamb shank, had a little taste and the spices were on point, very good portions of everything too, would recommend as a MUST taste curry house,. Will go back soon but always being on the move makes it difficult, saying that I'm going to make sure I have that biryani again. Keep it up chef
I ordered food on line from them and was given a delivery time, it got to 20 minutes past that time an i gently enquired as to the whereabouts of my food, called the restaurant an the response from the guy who could hardly speak understandable English was absolutely disgusting! I explained to him that it was late by 20 minutes an he replied its raining, be patient you've ordered it now its on its way you have to pay!!! I explained to him i understand, but this response is not good service an he replied he didn't care, thats how it is! Absolutely outraged by this attitude!.... Disgusting service and will not be using it again...I paid the for the meal when it got here an it was not hot, the naan bread was soft an not cooked properly, the rest was nice but the whole experience was awful and i would suggest visiting another restaurant.
Living locally, I've frequented this establishment at least twice a month for over two years. I've been a curry lover for over 20 years and have a background in nutrition, I've experimented with many diet fads and they always manage to tailor their food to my requirements. If you understand the nuances of curry making AND make clear to the staff what your requirements are you'll not be disappointed and the more often you go the better it seems to get. Great value for money. Décor may not be to everyone's taste however the food certainly should be.
As a lover of Indian food, I'm an old friend of Exotic.. came late, on Thursday night and got a friendly welcome. The menu has all the classic Tandoori cuisine as well as Chef's Specialties. My South Indian Garlic Chicken was amazing! Served sizzling hot with chunky mushroom rice, fluffy Pashwari Nan and ice cold Cobra Beer. For real curry lovers, The Exotic is the place!
