Ezell's Famous Chicken

I ordered the two piece special which included a side and roll. The roll was great. The man and cheese were pretty good. The pic on the wall showed a leg and thigh. I got a thigh and wing. My brother ordered the same meal and got a thigh and breast. We were both let down as we were expecting a leg and thigh. The crust was awesome. The meat was low on flavor. I guess the skin soaked up all the good taste or the flavor couldn't get past the crust. I'd still give them another try but it wasn't as good as I remembered it before the ownership split up.

The chicken here is excellent, but the service leaves much to be desired. Occasionally, I find myself willing to endure a visit to their store just to enjoy that fantastic chicken, but the slow service and frequent mistakes are frustrating, and the staff often seem indifferent about it. I've also noticed that this location isn't much worse than the others; the company's overall structure contributes to a disappointing experience, leaving you feeling underwhelmed after spending your money.

As with all Ezell's locations, the atmosphere is delightful. The kernel corn is fantastic, and the drumsticks are outstanding. However, the tenders were a bit dry. You can't win them all! The staff is a great team, all working hard to prepare food for the usual crowd of 8 to 9 people waiting. Overall, it's an excellent option for a family dinner, though it can be a bit pricey.

Fried chicken=amazing, potatoes and gravy= also very good. But honestly don't get the fries even if your kids ask for them. That's all I have found here so far that they could honestly remove from the menu and I wouldn't even be a little mad. Maybe I'm persnickety when it comes to potatoes. No shade- just being honest. This is, without a doubt, the best fried chicken I've ever had. In my humble opinion, it's absolutely worth the slightly higher price. A few extra bucks for this amazing chicken is definitely justified!

Consistently served hot and generous portions. The rolls are consistently fresh and wonderfully soft. I really enjoy their coleslaw—it's never overdressed.
