12/5/2018 Ate a slice at Ray's today after first going to, The District restaurant to eat. See their Yelp review from me. At Ray's, I got the Chocolate cake for dessert. And a Pizza slice because I was still hungry. It was delicious. chicken breast, bacon, tomatoes, ranch dsg, a white cheese, but not mozzarella. I can't remember what all was on it and I forgot to take a pix. When you go in, look for it. It won't disappoint. Happy Eats 11/13/2018 Ate at Ray's. Stopped by this place after having some drinks a few blocks south, Inside at Bart's, left me craving a NYC slice. I walked inside and it looked the same as my childhood, a few employees behind the counter, some customers eating and a few more in line behind me. I ordered two plain slices, waited a few minutes then paid and walked to the back with my familiar red tray. Reminding me that I was in a familiar place was the NY1 logo hugging the bottom left corner of the TV screen. I added my seasonings and enjoyed both slices while catching up on local news, before tossing my garbage and heading to the subway.
First off, not a fan of this slice. The crust was too much and the cheese seemed to slide right off the top. Compared to other pizza places around, it is almost criminal that they charge $3 for a plain slice, and $5 for what they consider a special slice . The whole shop was dirty when we came in and there were flies buzzing around while we ate our pizza in the back tables. I absolutely do not intend on coming back! Don 't waste your time or money checking this place out because you 'll only be disappointed.
Not exactly the original ray's, but with is infamous name, they sling decent pies like most other pizza shops in the city.I've stopped in here several times for a slice. It's pretty close to quintessential nyc pizza. I appreciate that they go beyond just plain and pepperoni. Garlic knots are pretty good too.Nice enough guys behind the counter and any slice is good as long as you ensure it hasn't sat there for too long. I've had a miss or two. The oven reheat can only do so much.

The pizza was fine, “not bad”, but I think they can do better. I liked how crusty it was but I had a feeling that it misses something, a little ingredient to make it much more tasty and flavorful. The Caprese slice was quite big but $6.10 still seems expensive.Will I return? Maybe, only if I am nearby and very hungry.
We stopped here for a quick easy bite… didn’t want to do sit down and were too impatient to plan a meal. The cheesesteak was nothing to write home about- stick with the pizza. We got the white broccoli pizza which was actually pretty good- I would come back for that again. A good place for a quick easy slice of pizza.

Overall great pizza, we grabbed three of the slice deals with drink, came in just over 20$.I liked the variety of slices, they did have to reheat but tasted good. There were some seats available at the time.
