I am a fan of Asian cuisine and Asian bakeries, so I was delighted to find a Fa Da Bakery near the Jackson Heights Roosevelt Avenue transfer station to LGA. I was even more excited when I found out last year that they were offering freshly made papaya smoothies. I usually stop by for a coffee and one of their hot dog pastries, but the smoothies are now my new favorite!
The place wasn't busy when I entered. The food offered at bakeries is usually eating for breakfast. This place used to be a mom-and-pop bakery similar to the Double Rainbow restaurant.Most of the items available in the morning are already sold out. I choose their pies and one of their steamed buns. There weren't many customers there as it was lunchtime.
The coffee was great, and my BLT was fresh and delicious. I gave three stars because my items were placed in a to go bag, without asking if I was dining in or not as the two customers were asked before me and my change was placed on the counter instead of in my hand. Both come across as rude.
The crew were friendly. I am reluctant to get food there because of the NY health inspection grade of B which was glued at the front glass window. I went to the Health app and I cannot believe what I read. This Fay Da bakery is located at Woodside. Réservez une table maintenant
I purchased 7 sausage buns at the Jackson Heights location. I enjoyed them at night, but something seemed off. I later discovered what was wrong - I was completely disappointed! Do you really bake like this?
Hmmm Pro: many locations near by the subway. Cons: their bread is not as soft as Rainbow bakery. Not that fluffy and not that yummy! The filling is less compared to rainbow. Also the milk tea is a big no...
The bakery is fantastic, but you need to go early in the morning for the best selection. Unfortunately, the bubble tea is not good here so I would recommend saving your money.
This is a nice and beautiful store in this community. Not much variety in the store. Typical Chinese Asian sales Parsons, no smile no thank you. Réservez une table maintenant
They have a ton of great buns. I like the hot dog bao and coconut cream buns.
