It was a special occasion and we were looking forward to an elegant high tea similar to the picture in their Groupon voucher offer. However we were served cold chunks of lasagne, cold sad looking scones, dented ribbon sandwiches with questionable fillings, and chunks of...cake just plonked on the plates. Absolutely nothing “posh” as claimed in their description. Check out their picture compared to ours. The staff were friendly and welcoming but the meal was SO disappointing. If you are looking for a really elegant high tea at a very reasonable price go no further than the Lyrebird restaurant at QPAC. It is for people, just more than the F&A deal!
Arrived at 12 midday for lunch on a hot December Monday. It says "fully air-conditioned" on the front door and that is what we wanted but the air-con was not turned on, so we sat outside at the tables on the footpath. The place has been furnished in a "retro" style but the chairs were very uncomfortable. We ordered cappuccinos and they were OK but we have had a lot better. The meals were good and reasonably priced. We were the only customers at the café for quite a while during what we thought would be the busy lunch period on a working day.
I went there last Friday with a friend around lunch time and we had coffees and cakes. We had been told of this new gem in our local area so wanted to try it out. Was decorated with beautiful vintage items and furniture. Very pleasant and friendly staff. GREAT COFFEE! Lots of homemade goodies to try. We just had time for a coffee and cake but will definately go back to try some of their Phillipino dishes. They are open 7 days a week till 2pm but will look at opening later in the future.
My husband, son, and I had breakfast at the restaurant today and the staff made us feel very welcome. The coffee was great, which was much needed for a busy day, and the food was delicious. We also enjoyed the giant and tasty smoothie. I regret not getting a chocolate and peanut butter brownie to go! Thank you for a wonderful experience. Réservez une table maintenant
