I stayed at the Kastanienhof for almost 3 weeks because I was working in Hanau. Starting early (5:30 a.m. , you can be in Wolfgang in 20 minutes. Traffic jam later. The room I had was the first one seen from the driveway. It has 2 beds and is very spacious. Kitchenette, crockery, 2 burner stove, microwave, toaster, TV, refrigerator, sink, everything is there that you need for self-catering. Initially there was an oven/grill combination in the room, but this was easily exchanged for a microwave with grill by the hosts. There is also a separate bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. Only the lamp above the mirror makes it a bit difficult to shave under the chin because the neck is in the shade. The cost of the room at 55 euros was cheap and more than justified. At the bottom of the building is a small inn with a small menu. It is closed on Wednesday and Thursday. The food is relatively cheap. I had schnitzel with fried potatoes and another time warm meat sausage. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was too thick for me, it could have been beaten more. I then helped myself with thin sheaths. The fried potatoes were baked in the hot air fryer in the spirit of today. It may be low in fat, but for me, fried potatoes with bacon and onions belong in the pan. Only then do they taste like fried potatoes. The innkeepers are friendly and accommodating and respond to every request. All in all, the Kastanienhof is a good recommendation. Small but nice. The courtyard with the cozy beer garden invites you to end the day and have a few more pints and enjoy fresh, honest cuisine. You always meet the couple who run the farm at eye level and are also available for a little chat. When no one is looking, you can steal a few plums from the tree and snack on them...
