We just came back from a Thursday evening meal at this place and it was a really strange experience. Firstly, I think it is important to point out that this is not a restaurant. You'll eat in someone's home and the food has made a home quality to him. We have read that you need to book as it is really popular, but there was only us and another man in the big dining room. No other tables were so clear that nobody else came. Since this is at the end of July, and supposedly peak season I don't know where everyone else was. The place was completely free from atmosphere. Another reviewer described it as "intimating", but that was far from our experience. With only us and another, no mood lighting...
This small, intimate restaurant, the part of the farmhouse is really very special and we were so glad that we went. It is very unusual that it is exclusively reservations and you choose your meal when you make the reservation. The choice is limited, but it is so good! You also have a good aperitif and wine menu. We had pork like that, and it was delicious. The service was good, the food was excellent and the ambience was very good.
Il vous suffit de réserver pour le dîner du dimanche. Nous avions rendu visite à des amis il y a quelques années. Nous y sommes retournés en famille cette fois-ci et ils ont adoré. La famille qui dirige l'établissement est visiblement passionnée et très fière de ce qu'elle fait. Nous avons eu un excellent repas et un excellent service.
This place is really lovely. You get a great welcome and all the food is superb, with the pork being the star of the show. The wine list is affordable and extensive and they've got some lovely Pineaux in stock, which if you've never tried it, you should. Highly recommended.
