Our host for a local bed and breakfast recommended this restaurant because it was close to his place and we were tired from our travels and didn’t want to go too far. We wanted something special because it was my 65th birthday. Our host’s only caution was that we would probably get more food than we could eat. Boy was he right! We used the set menu because we have found it to be the best way to order meals in Europe. The first course almost did me in. My husband was in heaven because there were so many types of seafood—prawns, mussels, sea snails, etc. I ate about 2/3 of my plate and my husband finished it off! I chose the chicken entree and my husband had the fish. Both were glorious. The sauces were so tasty. My vegetables with my meal were fresh and perfectly cooked! All of the tastes complimented the meals. After he finished his plate, my husband said it was the best meal he had ever eaten! We skipped the cheese course as much as I would have wanted to try it because we were so full. One can’t skip dessert! I had a tart and my husband had the ice cream. Yummy! You have to want to find this place because it is out of the way. Google Maps saved us as we drove throughout this part of the countryside! The cost of our meal including a nice bottle of wine and espresso was quite reasonable. A command of some French would be a good idea as our waitress spoke minimal English. She was delightful, however! It was very hot in France this summer. We sat indoors by a door but probably would have been better off outside in the ample patio. The decor is very charming.
A delightful restaurant. We started our dinner outside watching the horses and enjoying the delicious pate' de fois gras. the service is friendly although they struggled with my french. The food was excellent the wines reasonably priced and delicious. When it became chilly we moved inside to their delightful dining room. We will certainly come back again and i am sure we will return on each visit to Honfleur. Our landlady recommended it and it certainly was a wonderful find. It is at the top of the hill away from all the rush down by the water front. An elegant house to have a delightful romantic meal.
We had dinner here on a rainy evening in May. The place is very pretty, slightly outside Honfleur center. The restaurant has a traditional décor with pretty touches of colour added by a multitude of colorful wooden animals. The food is outstanding: fruits des mer, meat, desserts were all of great quality and served in good portions (the plateau de fruits de mer for 1 easily serves 2 persons). Lastly, very correct prices (good set menus with plenty of choice are available) and good service. Overall a highly recommendable experience!
The food was superb. Fresh local produce cooked in a traditional French manner. The set menu was excellent value. Neither of us drink wine, but the local cider and apple juice were delicious. We would heartily recommend this restaurant and will be going back next year. It is a family restaurant, children were welcome and we could take our dog into the restaurant.
