After wandering around the town I decided to go to what seemed to be the best restaurant in town – La Ferme de Saint Sébastien. It is located in a beautifully restored longère. The maître d’/waiter/perhaps owner greeted me warmly and took me to an...enclosed terrace with 4 tables and a gorgeous view of the valley. With my glass of Saint Pourçain rosé not bad I was served a little plate of amuse-bouche – a tiny gougère, a little cheese cracker and a delicious mustard madeleine. As I was waiting for my meal the maître d’/waiter/perhaps owner came to my table with a little bit of blue electrical wire and as he was chatting created a lovely little heart-shaped ‘pin’ that he attached to my lapel...
From the moment we were greeted warmly by the owner and started our evening with a drink under the shade of the colourful sails until we finished our coffees, having eaten a wonderful meal on the balcony whilst watching the sun set this was a...wonderful evening. Everything our group ordered was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic; dishes incorporated local specialities such as the mustard, cheese and wine. Definitely go for the cheese trolley, you won't be disappointed. The owner and staff are happy and attentive and the other French diners were friendly and tolerant of our group of eight. A great evening and it was great value too. Will definitely return next time we are in the area...
Nous étions un groupe de 4 adultes et un garçon de 13 ans. Deux d'entre nous étaient déjà venus plusieurs fois, mais pour les autres c'était nouveau. Quelle merveilleuse soirée. Le maître d'hôtel était compétent et passionné par les sources des ingrédients et la cuisine. Il encourageait une aventure culinaire qui était magnifique. En bref, la qualité et la présentation des plats étaient excellentes, le service était excellent et l'environnement (à l'extérieur à l'arrière avec notre chien qui avait de l'eau à disposition) était magnifique.
Ce restaurant se trouvait à quelques pas de chez nous et il était à la hauteur de sa note. Un menu simple limité et bien exécuté. Nous avons mangé dehors avec nos 2 chiens et le repas était délicieux et détendu. Le personnel...est très serviable et sympathique avec le mari du chef, un vrai personnage. L’accent mis sur les produits locaux a vraiment fonctionné. Réservez une table maintenant
Un endroit incroyable avec un magnifique paysage, une cuisine délicieuse et un service très attentif et charismatique. Nous avons visité deux fois lors de notre deuxième voyage, ils ont accepté une réservation de dernière minute pour 22 personnes, et tout s'est déroulé parfaitement. Je recommande cet endroit à tous ceux qui visitent Charroux.
Nous avons passé une soirée spéciale à Charroux en dînant dans ce restaurant. La nourriture était délicieuse et chaque plat comprenait des spécialités de la région comme la moutarde de Charroux ou le fromage d'Auvergne et des vins glorieux également de la région de St Pourcain ! Le service était excellent et nous reviendrons!
We had a special evening in Charroux eating supper at this restaurant. The food was delicious and every dish included some of the regions specialities like the mustard from Charroux or the cheese from the Auvergne and glorious wines also from the area from St...Pourcain! The service was excellent and we shall be returning!
Almost a degustation. We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel (La Maison Prince de Conde) because their's was closed on Sunday and it didn't disappoint! Excellent food in lovely terrace with friendly service. Relatively expensive but this clearly reflected the quality of the food. Réservez une table maintenant
We are very pleased that our hotel host recommended this restaurant! It was the best meal we had in Europe and we lived here for a few years. The meat was tender. Fresh vegetables. All beautifully decorated. Every euro worth (all things that were considered not expensive).
