My experience at The Fieldhead for Sunday lunch in early February was disappointing. We have dined there multiple times before, but this visit was the most disappointing yet. We were seated at a table near the front door, causing us to feel a cold draft every time someone entered. The table was sticky and appeared to not have been properly cleaned. The service was fast, but the atmosphere was lacking. I ordered the salmon main course, which was a small portion with too much hollandaise sauce and an overwhelming amount of watercress. Went with a friend for 3 course festive lunch. Return visit as last year everything was very good. Arrived at 1230 to a empty room very unusual.. preordered starters arrived and were OK. Turkey roast came and 2 Yorkshire puddings covered the food and when removed the other portions were small. Only 4 other customers in the room and preordered food but sat with empty plates for 30 minuites before having to ask for desserts. Young boy and lady were the only staff on but only 6 customers?? Eventually we had to call over for the bill and were told very abruptly go to the bar. This has never happened before we have paid at the table, convenient if disabled. Having not been here for a while due to a bad experience. Food and service were both shocking. However, we called in today to give it another try. This has got to be the best Greene king pub. The food was absolutely fantastic as was the service. We had scampi, sirloin and Mac n cheese. All came out piping hot and fresh. Couldn’t fault any of it. The Sunday lunch looked fabulous too.

Had dinner and stay over, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, hotel check in lady (sorry didn't get your name) was really nice made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in served by Toni for dinner amazing service cannot thank you both enough for the effort made, food was 10/10 all in all a great stay and we will most certainly be returning
Upon arriving at The Fieldhead, we were warmly greeted by the staff. They were kind and accommodating throughout our stay. Our pet friendly room was clean, spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had a wonderful experience and look forward to returning in the future.
Staff were good but food not so. My lasagne tasted sweet and was the worst I have ever eaten. My friends fish and chips was served in a wire basket, how can you eat fish in a wire basket? It looked good though. Why can’t meals be served on a plate? Won’t be going back
Lovely receptionist booked us into our hotel room. The room was lovely! Clean very comfortable beds. Our 3 course meal was delicious! Staff member Toni looked after us so well, she’s an absolute asset to the company!! Entertainment was great too.

The staff at this restaurant is always very friendly and professional. I feel well taken care of every time I visit, which is 28 days out of the month. Their exceptional service truly makes me feel at home.
