I completely forgot how much flavor they can pack into a veggie. I ate the first half of the medium-sized sandwich without any hot sauce and enjoyed bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, tomato, but the second half was covered in Sorensen, a sweet, ketchupy, BBQ sauce, while the bread was also soaked with Cholula. When I arrived at 12:20 PM the line was 8 people deep and it took some time to get to the front but I believe the wait will be much shorter outside lunch hour. I ordered a medium veggie on wheat, was asked if I like a pickle, my sandwich fully involved , if I want to make it a combo, if I want to round up the cost to the next full dollar for a good cause, and finally what my name is. I stopped a quick bite. This was my first visit to a Firehouse Sub site. Floor was a bit dirty, but it was close to the closing time and the staff was active cleaning. The service was fast and the staff was polite. Sandwich took a little longer than I expected, but worth waiting. The hero had ham, turkey and roast beef. What impressed me most was the generous portion of meat on the sandwich. Bread was fresh, salad and pimples were crisp. Cheese was warm and melted. All and all a very good sandwich, it put the other popular sandwich shop to shame. As former first respondents, I appreciate the fact that they donate first respondents to save lives. Will definitely return to Firehouse Subs!
