The ambience and room were lovely, the staff were also very good and attentive throughout. Service was not the issue. The food however was all a bit lacklustre. My friend had the fish pie that was a lot of potato and cheese but not much fish...it was in a word 'stodgy '. I had one of the special dishes which was the Frito Misto...for the price it was not good value or quality: small portions of actual fish and it was all over cooked to the point of being dry, there were about 12 whitebait, a few calamari, one prawn, and 1 piece of mullet about 4cm in length. We sampled fish and chips (from their take-away business) on a food tour and decided we had to go back for a sit-down meal. We repeated with fish and chips, but added drinks (wine and a cocktail) and appetizers and we weren't disappointed. Possible the best fish and chips we've ever had. Fish! was busy (it was Friday night) and it's a fairly noisy (not to the point where we were bothered). We found the food and service to be excellent. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but well worth a try. If we lived in London, we'd be there on a regular basis.
Food is very good, although grilled fish portions are quite small. Our waiter was great, but the team delivering the food were very abrupt and it felt at times the food was being thrown at us. Highlight for me was the sardines on toast starter, these were amazing. The grilled turbot I had, although delicious and cooked perfectly was v small for the price paid. Good, but not great.
We both had Excellent fish lunches and my wife had the chocolate mousse that she said was one of the best, plus excellent service by Mark, and a nice touch with the ice cream and candle for my birthday.

Loved it, good was amazing and service was attentive although first came to the table after we’ve already been there for 15min.
Fish was well prepared and very fresh. Relatively casual place. Good service. Not crowded for dinner.
