"I?m new and because I love Cajun food and from the NO I know you shouldn?t be passing off gumbo like this. Can chicken, sausage wasn?t cooked and the sauce taste like gravy. Nothing about it was Cajun at all. Maybe the real cook wasn?t there but it was aNO for me!!!"

Brief review: it was okay, but not okay enough for us to go back. Longer version: Stopped in a couple Saturdays ago, around 4:30. There was a please wait to be seated sign which was funny because in that large space there was only one other customer. There were three employees in the back, talk. We were seated quickly. I enjoyed the decorations but the temp inside made mewonder if their a/c was broken. The first red flag was when we ordered sweet tea they delivered us unsweet tea with sugarpackets. Huh? Why have sweet tea and unsweet tea on the menu if you 're only going to deliver unsweet tea? Having sweet tea onthe menu indicates it is already sweet, not a do-it-yourself deal. The second red flag was the appetizers. We got a dirtyplate, the fried green tomatoes were paper thin (there was more crust than tomato), and the hushpuppies were completely bland.Even adding butter was no help. My sister enjoyed her sausasage po-boy and cajun fries, although the fries were no longer warm.I had seen our food sitting up at their counter and it sat there for some time. I ordered the red bean bowl. Unfortunately, ittoo was bland. The spicy sausage was barely there and not enough to help with the flavor. I also am certain the beans should nothave what looks like a dry outer growth to them. To be fair, no, I have never lived in Louisiana. Maybe the food is how it 'ssupposed to be, but when I think about the meals we had at Baby Kay 's, there is absolutely no comparison. If I want cajun foodagain, Flavors of LA is out. Baby Kay 's is in.

Great food. Great service. Sometimes you just want Cajun food. This is the place in the west valley to get it. We ordered Catfish Po'boy. Best sandwich ever. Etouffee. Silky and full of flavor. Chicken and sausage gumbo. Aclassic. Jambalaya. Flavorful and hearty. Begniets. A little heavy with oil. The Po'boy stole the show. The bread was so epicI ate the whole thing. Seriously amazing. The gumbo was gumbo. You won't be disappointed. Etouffee and jambalaya were so muchbetter then many of the food trucks running around town chucking lackluster food from a packet out the window. The begniets. These were a little oil heavy and sort of had an odd flavor. Maybe the oil was old? I'm not sure. Try it yourself and see. Maybeit was an off day. Definitely going back.

Went with a pretty large party (21) for an early reserved lunch. There were 2 tables and somehow table #1 received all beverages while table 2 had nothing. Orders were taken and submitted at the same time, so the food arrived hodge podge and out of order. The restaurant decor was pretty basic, not too much decorative to give a feel of NOLA or Louisiana but there was a banner, analligator head statue, and a sign near restrooms that had New Orleans. Food was okay. Catfish was well seasoned but I was prettysad that they did not carry grits. ???? The pricing was far and the server was helpful each time she was asked for somethingfor the 2nd or 3rd time. I probably won't return since no alcohol is served

I've heard about this place for a long time! Finally got to go with the person that kept telling me I needed to try it. The decor is fairly plain, with a neat mural of the swamp on one wall. The service was a little slow, given we were there around 3pm. Food was good, but not quite as great as I had heard. I ordered the Dunkin Catfish and was really looking forward to it. Thestrips of catfish were good, but a little small. The etouffee sauce was pretty anemic as well. All in all it was good, but I'vehad better in the valley.
