This hotel may have been the hot spot in the 60’s but its beyond time for some upgrades, especially for the price. The mattresses and pillows are very poor quality, seem to be the original ones. 3 out of the 4 rooms we had were extremely noisy from elevators and people coming constantly. People also love racing up and down the streets at all hours. Poor lighting in the bathrooms and no fan for the shower. Broken toilet paper holder. Tall lamps are falling apart. The QR code room service menu is not the correct menu. Tons of wasted space throughout this hotel. Decent food, but not the five stars they claim, even at the high end rooftop restaurant. This hotel is also a big hub for people taking a cruise, so you have tons of those people around. Out of all the towers to stay in, try to avoid tower 3, as it seems to be the loudest.
The hotel is lovely, our Tower 3 2BR suite was gorgeous. The greeting at check in at 1030pm was not pleasant, there was no explanation about the 20th floor breakfast that was part of our reservation or the wine/snacks daily on the 20th floor. The Suite which had a 2nd bedroom door was locked and when I returned to the front desk they said it had to be unlocked, the person who came to unlock the door acted like they were doing us a favor opening the door. The service in the restaurant at breakfast time (for our take out order), was great, the hostess was lovely and we received our take out meal super fast. The accommodation made up for the initial greeting. The receptionist in the WOmen’s Athletic club was lovely, able to schedule massages and learn about the pool and gym. Perhaps just a bad night at the check in desk.
We stayed here one night pre cruise-We found it very comfortable and the food and staff were amazing. As others have said the hotel is showing it age but it was still very clean and comfortable. Plus very easy to hook up with cruise reps and there is some shopping right in the hotel
I do not recommend this restaurant.... food is decent, bartender is friendly and professional but the manager is so bad that he should consider a career change. I understand that good employees are hard to find in the covid environment but having a rude manager does not help.
