I was curious about the long line of 13 people waiting for one of the six showers at a small truck parking lot that only accommodates 30 trucks. I initially thought having six showers was more than enough for the space. After arriving and waiting an hour in the fuel lane for security to move a non-paying trespasser, I woke up the next morning and reserved a shower. However, two hours later, I was still only 10th in line.

While I waited, I figured out the reason for the delay. As I was taking care of my dog, I noticed a large Lazy Dayz RV campground right next to the truck stop. It seems that many vacationers prefer to use the truck stop showers instead of the ones in their RVs. This Flying J feels more like a convenient store and shower facility for campers than a traditional truck stop. It's obvious that the campers aren't in a hurry, as they're on vacation and enjoying a leisurely pace.
On the other hand, for the few truck drivers still working, most of us like to start our day with a shower. It seems I may have to settle for a less-than-ideal bathroom situation.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years, and I still find myself missing the previous establishment that occupied this space; I'm having a hard time letting it go. This location is larger than Yee Haw Junction and I-75-301 in Riverview, FL, but it's smaller than the truck stop across the street. Some parking spots can be a bit snug for larger trucks, but they do have a dump station and offer propane. Access for big RVs is quite convenient. The staff here are wonderful—always friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciate. It's great to have such a nice place to stop. This place is always crowded, no matter what time you visit; it’s consistently packed. I've been here at various times, and it’s always the same—it's as if the people parked there never leave. Additionally, parking is quite limited, and it’s a small Flying J, even though they have ample space that isn’t utilized effectively. Also, be cautious when exiting; you need to go straight and then take a left, not a right. Remember this, or you'll end up frustrated if you mistakenly turn right!

I've been going to this place for years. I still miss the restraint. (I'm still not above the loss) This place is larger than Yee Haw Junction Fl and I-75 -301 (Riverview FL) smaller than TA above the road. Some of the rooms are narrow for large Rigs. It has a garbage station and propane. Simple in and out for large RV. Staff is the best. Always friendly. Thanks for a great place to stop. Lost a star because the place shows some age. Main room needs an upgrade. I'd visit again.
The bathrooms and showers are closed and not accessible. There are no ice cream or hearty food options available. If you're looking for a hot meal, you'll need to use Grubhub or visit the T/A Travel Plaza before 10 a.m. Also, a slice of pizza from the deli case doesn’t really qualify as a full meal.
The shower at Flying J Travel Center was clean with excellent water pressure, but the public restroom could use some improvements. Additionally, the hot water handle on the faucet in the men's restroom was not functioning. The menu offered a good variety of options to choose from.
Small Flying J. Half of the 20 or so truck spots are pay to park only. $18/night but there isn?t a lot of parking for semi trucks in the Tampa area. Typical Flying J as far as the store is concerned. Would have gotten more stars if the lot was bigger and had more parking.
