"I have eaten at family run Fonda Oaxaquena at least ten times, enjoying a variety of dishes, including shrimp, beef, and chicken. The sweet chicken and spicy beef mole dishes are my fav's (both are gluten-free, since the oaxacan version doesn't have wheat bread). The bean dip is very good, but the fire-roasted salsa is delicious (and available to go), and the homemade chips and corn tortillas are simply the best! For dessert, I had the perfectly ripe, fried plantain in a light caramel sauce with a dollop of whipped cream (and a maraschino cherry). The flan is good too. Service is excellent, and staff is friendly."
