From the service to the atmosphere Ford+Shep is a great restaurant in the downtown area of Greenville. But let me speak about the food. I was able to enjoy the bison bacon meatballs with an exquisite pesto sauce. My dining companions both had fantastic meals as well. Pork chop marinated in sweet tea and the melon salad with added grilled shrimp really made the meal perfect for all. Oh I almost forgot. We started off the meal with their cheese board. All of the samplings were amazing. If you were visiting from out of town like myself this is definitely a must-stop. I had never dined at this restaurant before and had high expectations, but unfortunately, I ended up with a burnt and average hamburger that cost $19. The black buckle dish was overcooked and fatty, priced at $40. The baked green tomatoes were lacking in seasoning, and the cookies served with them were overdone. The drinks and atmosphere were decent, and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. If they are going to charge these prices, they really need to be more consistent.
Atmosphere is great. Service was prompt. We got up and left however after seeing the sparse over-descriptive menu and the very high prices. Gave the food a one star as we never got to try it. Advice: lower the menu flair, increase the menu choices and lower the price by about 50%. They also do not offer menus at the table. Just a card with a QR code to pull the menu up on your phone. This restaurant is fantastic, offering an exceptional culinary experience that is truly remarkable. If you find yourself in Greenville, NC, make sure you don't miss the chance to dine here. Everything is top-notch! The elk tenderloin and pan-seared red snapper are outstanding, and the small plates, especially the tuna, were delicious. Had never eaten here and had high hopes but received a burnt, mediocre hamburger for $19. Pork chop was burnt and was a fatty cut for $40. Fried green tomatoes lacked seasoning; the biscuits they were served on were overdone. Drinks and atmosphere were okay. Staff were helpful and informed. If you’re gonna charge these prices, you best be consistent.
every time I eat at ford and shep, every dish was so delicious! the waiter is super attentive and knowledgeable; hayden goes beyond and beyond to ensure that every detail is exactly right. the restaurant itself is beautiful and full of local art! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wishes a great cocktail and a delicious, unique meal
This restaurant offers an upscale dining experience, although the entrance is somewhat unusual. I feel for the resident living directly across from the door. The food was delightful; the shareable poke salad was more than enough to satisfy an empty stomach. The cheesecake was decent, but it was a bit too firm to earn a strong recommendation.
f s is absolutely one of the best restaurants in nc and certainly eastern nc. the fresh and the quality of eating is amazing. the cocktails are excellent. the ambiente is not rival. they are desserts. just go there.
