Puckett?s Grocery Restaurant in Leiper?s Fork, Tennessee was founded in 1953 as a county store. One could stop for gas, groceries and a good, down south meal. Now, over the years this local bar and eatery has expanded to other locales but has kept this authentic, hole in the wall feel here at home. Serving up award-winning burgers and barbecue and opening up their stage to veterans like Winona Judd, Tanya Tucker, Rodney Crowell, David Archuleta and so many more. Not tomention those fresh to the Nashville scene, those up and comers. Very limited parking got us joining the long line of vehicles running up and down both sides of the highway. Edit to my review: Dropping star rating to a 1 because my credit card was charged a $35 tip on a $34 bill and two phone calls to the store answered by an answering machine have been ignored. The place was sold to new ownership and if this is how it?s going to be run I will never go back. We took my mother-in-law to Fox Locke lastnight to hear three legendary songwriters perform and tell stories. It was a great time and the food was delicious. I had the pulled pork, my wife had the fried catfish, while my MIL had a classic cheeseburger. It was all very good. Drinks were good as well. Very well ran business and everyone was friendly. The only complaint we had was the very large speaker which we were sitting right in front of. It was just way too loud at times. It would be great to get those huge speakers replaced with smaller, but capable, speakers that could be mounted on the ceiling, or walls. I'm still giving F L 5 stars though. We will be back next month for Open Mic Night...
Excellent food! The burger was amazing and although they offered a double patty, I 'm not sure how anyone could eat it! The single patty is huge! The atmosphere was nice and wish I had a ticket to the live music night. Everyone here made us out of town folk feel right at home! Definitely eating here again when I 'm back in town!
