Frango Grill is clearly not too subtle a reference to another chicken restaurant and the menu is equally reflective. However, do not let that put you off. The food is fantastic and superior to that other restaurant. My whole family agrees on that point. We have been having our new kitchen fitted and so needed to rely on takeaway food for a couple of weeks. After becoming bored with the usual suspects I thought I’d try Frango. The whole family loved it and we’ve quickly become their best customers I’d imagine. I’m a vegetarian so I can’t personally vouch for the chicken but the kids love the choice of spice and my boy demolishes the wings. My wife and I also love the vegetarian options which...
Usually.. very fond of this establishment. Tasty chicken at decent prices. We were very loyal frequent customers, that was until we experienced the most disgusting service last night. Called at 8:30 to place an order told no they’re closing, and we popped in just after as we were passing to be told (and I quote) “F*CK OFF WE’RE CLOSED NOW, F*CK OFF” and then man actually shooed my partner out of the door (8:40pm) they close at 9 as advertised online. I understand if there was a complicated order, but 2 chicken pitas shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. After placing our order, we waited 40 minutes for our appetizers while only one out of five occupied tables received their food during that time. The waitress approached us at the 40-minute mark to confirm our order, prompting me to inquire with the kitchen about the status of our meal. I was informed that the chicken dish would take an additional 30 minutes, even though I observed our appetizers being prepared. Disappointed, I decided to request a refund. We ordered takeaway from this restaurant and I had low expectations, but unfortunately the meal did not meet them. The chicken wraps were filled with dry and chewy chicken, lacking in mayo and lettuce. The crispy wings were not actually crispy, drenched in a spicy sauce that was overpowering. The sides were hit or miss, with tasty chips and charred, dry corn. Overall, the food was bland and disappointing. Frango Grill. Chicken exceptionale. Plain, mild, we like the extra Hottttt. This is most Chicken, served in our case with Sweet Potato Fries, slaw, and (maybe too much of a treat) starters. Get yourself a table booked and enjoy some fab chicken and a bottle of wine. Great value too.
