We dropped in on a Friday night for cocktails, and the bartender was incredibly kind and accommodating, even assisting us in planning our weekend in the area. She offered excellent recommendations and mixed a delicious drink. We enjoyed the place and her company so much that we made a point to return the following night for dinner. We had to try the steak! The food was fantastic. We started with the works salad, which was amazing for just $4, then had french onion soup, a porterhouse steak, and a delightful pasta with bacon-wrapped scallops. Everything was delicious! I wish we lived closer; we'd definitely be regulars!
It felt like we were in an episode of "Restaurant Impossible." As soon as we arrived at Frank's Steak House, we noticed that the sign had been painted over to say "Frank's House," and there were pizza flags staked out front. It quickly became clear that we wouldn't be having steak for dinner, but we were still curious about how bad it could be. The decor was quite outdated, with dim lighting from old fixtures. Unfortunately, the food was not great and was overcooked. Drinks were served directly from cans. On the bright side, our waitress was very pleasant and sweet.
I’ve tried their chicken and pork steak, and every dish has been absolutely perfect! If you’re ever in the Cambridge/Boston area, Frank's is a must-visit. It has a charming, nostalgic atmosphere. The booths, the photos—everything is simply delightful. It’s my favorite restaurant in the Boston area! The prices are amazing, offering a touch of upscale dining without any pretentiousness.
