Fran's Restaurant and Bar

I've eaten at several Frans locations, and of them all I would say that this one is the most pretentious. You might also call it upscale, but considering the retro diner theme of the other restaurants, this one makes me the most uncomfortable. Having said that the food and service was exactly what I expect of Frans. Friendly staff and simple tasty food.The only two problems I came across are the fact that some of the patio seating (in particular where we were sitting) is right over a grate. It makes you very uncomfortable to sit knowing if you drop anything small it's lost forever. The other problem I noticed while paying my bill. Their credit card machine's preset tip amounts start at 18.%...

Walked to this restaurant for breakfast on Sunday morning after staying at Westin harbour castle. 10minute easy walk. Service was quick food was good and reasonable. Coffee was ok. Only issue when we arrived there was a hostess podium outside. There was a group waiting for their table to be ready. Several servers walked by us getting the table ready. The group was told it was done and the servers just walked away. They didn't seat them. After we stood there for another couple of minutes another server said go inside to the other hostess podium. You would have thought one of the girls bustling by us many times would have said something. They also could have had a sign indicating to go inside.

My ex-coworker and I always meet up at this restaurant for lunch, and until last week we were there for lunch. I ordered a dish called "Chicken and Waffles" with the description of "A freshly-made waffle with spicy fried chicken, drizzled with Fran's maple syrup, topped with green onions for $13.99" Guess what. I received a waffle with three chicken wings on it and it costs $13.99 called the store manager and he just showed up said he can't do anything about it. because he is not the owner. WTH. I guess this would be our last time there. very dishonest restaurant. No more Fran's.

I must tell everything about Fran's was average on a weekday morning breakfast visit. We were seated among middle aged businessmen. Service was OK, polite and fast. Food was average! OK but really nothing to travel across the city. Our hotel was nearby so that was convenient. You pay an average price so overall it's a decent OK place. Réservez une table maintenant

We had Sunday breakfast at Fran's - choice of either sunny outside tables or air conditioning inside means it's a suitable place for all preferences. Wide choice of food from the all day breakfast selection. I had the Breakfast on the Seine and it was really tasty and at $12 very good value. The service was friendly and helpful.

I dropped in on Friday night - it was busy yet I was seated at the bar instantly.My food order came in under 10 minutes.Shepherds pie and it was superb.The bartenders were excellent with my drink and refills.Definitely a great place to eat.I will be back again in the future.

Plats excellents, de nombreux choix avec quelques plats végétariens ! Un serveur irlandais très gentil et à l'écoute ! Très bon rapport qualité prix !Excellent dishes, lots of choices with some vegetarian dishes! A very nice and Irish waiter! Very good value for money

Quick and friendly service, good atmosphere, clean. We went for breakfast - I had the corned beef hash and my friend had an omelette. The eggs were over cooked for both of our meals. The food was fine but nothing to write home about. Pretty average breakfast. Réservez une table maintenant

We had a meal in Frans a week ago. Although the service was good, the food was poorly-presented and tasteless. .we ate out 8 nights in a row in Toronto, and this was the worst meal.

Had breakfast there recently and very pleased, friendly staff, food arrived without a wait, ample portions and reasonable prices, would go back
