We have dined at Polpo over the past five years during our annual vacation to Avalon. The entrees have been well-prepared and very filling. This year we had an extremely rude server who seemed very upset that we only ordered main entrees. After he took our order, he said under his breath, cheap , huffed and walked away. Three members of our dinner party clearly heard this comment. We typically refrain from ordering too much food and have learned that the size of the entrees at Polpo are more than satisfactory. This restaurant is a BYOB. We went off-season. Ate indoors. The calamari appetizer was outstanding. The dinners of : Veal marsala and Osso Bucco special were excellent! The broccoli rob was terrible. Rolls were tasteless. The service was very good. They have a lot of bus girls/guys to help with all of your needs. Although there was only one waitress on duty we were worried) , she kept up with a lot of tables herself. I was amazed. Try their specials- excellent. During the summer it’s extremely busy/ better to go off season -you get a parking spot.! We had a nice time. No dessert . Came to about $75 ea. w tip. Will go back -Recommend

Food and service was good. It was a stormy off season evening so not at all crowded. We were a party of seven and everything went smoothly. Only complaint is the loud music. I asked to have it turned down and the helper said yes but there was no noticeable difference. Even the young folks were bothered by it. Loud Latin American ? music very distracting. Suggest quiet background music.

The food is one of the best around. Not just at the Jersey Shore but anywhere. They homemade pasta and blush sauce is phenomenal. The server Jordan way very nice and did an outstanding job. I highly recommend and we will be going back ASAP. Réservez une table maintenant

The freshness of vegetables and seafood was excellent. The homemade gnocchi was second to none and portions were appropriate.
