Neither of us had tried fondue before and it just so happened that there was a highly regarded fondue restaurant just a few minutes walk away from our hotel. Went with friends for dinner. The place is always full so advance booking is apparently essential. The menu is rather limited. Three starters, three types of fondue and some desserts. The fondues are ok but nothing special. I’ve had better in many other places. My...main criticism is the service. There are two ladies serving and you get what you order .... but the service would be described as brusque at best, bordering on rude. The other problem is the terrible acoustics. You need to shout to be heard. If you are looking for excellent fondue, a great location, good ambiance and friendly service, ignore the Fribourger and go instead to Le Dezaley

I somehow found their portion size a bit smaller compared to other...fondue places. I liked the small pot of potatoes that came along with bread, it’s not generally complimentary at other fondue places. Don’t forget to take a shot or two of Kirsch (traditional brandy) at the end to ease out the cheesiness. Overall a decent choice to taste some authentic fondue of Zurich.

...at least for me, but it seems for many others as well. The owner, who hails from the canton of Fribourg, makes sure the ingredients are top quality and the service friendly and efficient. Everything is genuine and tasty. The place is small and cozy,...and reservations are a must. For me a mandatory visit every time I am in Zurich.
If you love fondue then this place in Zurich is a must visit. They serve the traditional Fribourger Moite-Moite fondue and it is what you could expect of it. It is so nice that once the pan is empty it will make you wish you...had more. Definitely a place I’ll come back to when I visit Zurich.
If you are fond of noisy, crowded places, you will like this restaurant. I felt like home where my mother puts dishes in front of me. The personnel is really kind and fondues are delicious.

We had a wonderful meal after one of the owner sent us on a walk because we were 10 minutes early) and enjoyed the evening. I would recommend the food but watch out for the rude owner.
I was very lucky to be able to be squeezed in as a solo traveler (make a reservation! . Food was delicious, staff a delight. Highly recommended!
