This is a wonderful place for gluten free options. I have Celiac Disease. I was lucky to find Front Porch Cakes Eatery. The owner explained their gluten free options. She advised me that they are not a dedicated gluten free facility, but explained the care she takes in preparing her gluten free options. In addition to their gluten free dessert options, there is also a gluten free bread option. It is delicious. I got the turkey sandwich and added bacon. I didn't get it toasted and it didn't crumble apart like most gluten free breads. I got the almond, lemon and chocolate pound cake slices. Each piece was moist and delicious. The pound cake is amazing! The right amount of sweet, dense and moist. Everything pound cake should be. We tried individual slices of lemon, 5 flavor, almond and chocolate. I stopped in for the first time yesterday thinking it was just cupcakes, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is going to be my new pound cake place in RVA! Please don?t change a thing what that recipe! Not. A. Thing. I will be back for more before too long.
Stopped in near closing time for lunch on Saturday. Welcoming and friendly staff and owners. Just the right amount of food quiche and fruit. Wife had chicken salad sandwich and potato salad. We also had two pound cake flavors. A quick taste of tomato basil soup. Yummy. Pleasant indoor or outdoor seating and take out. Price is right.. We definitely will be back.
