Had booked to watch firework championship but decided to go early and enjoy dinner and drinks. Prebooked via website and had a lovely message back explaining they shut at 4 to then move outside for fresh pizzas but we could eat slightly earlier if we’d rather eat in the restaurant. Arrived earlier as we wanted to see the pretty restaurant and sat upstairs with an amazing view across the fields. Served by a very polite young man who couldn’t have been more helpful, the decor is so well thought out and unique. We ended up having pizzas which were fresh, hot, and tasty. Arrived at 10.30am. People were eating outside. Was met at the door inside and told the place was closed due to an urgent staff meeting. We told them we had come a long way when would they reopen. She said don't know could be longer than 15 minutes. Very curt and not the usual friendly manner expected here as come quite often. No niceties or apologies. Considering the place is struggling for business I would have thought they would try and keep what business they had not just close on a whim. What staff meeting/training can't wait till after hours. Not a way to run the business. We will not be making the 50 mile round trip out here again on the off-chance they might deign to serve us
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Fuel Tank. I made a reservation for a special birthday lunch for my grandmother and brought my two boys and their grandad along during half term. I emailed ahead of our visit and we had an amazing birthday lunch! Bijay and his team went above and beyond with table decorations and a fantastic birthday cake. They are truly exceptional! The staff was warm and friendly, the food was delicious with generous portions, and the service was great. Thank you Bijay for making the birthday celebration extra special and unforgettable. I highly recommend booking a visit here and will definitely be returning.
I just wanted to express my gratitude for the fantastic evening at the Balloon Bar in the Furl Tank. We hosted a hen party with a cocktail masterclass for each guest, followed by an afternoon tea. The venue is beautiful and offers a unique setting for any celebration. The staff were outstanding, especially Lotte, the events manager, who helped us plan and execute the event flawlessly. Mandip and Raj were fantastic hosts for our cocktail masterclass, and the afternoon tea was delicious and accommodating to various dietary restrictions. Rude staff, we were walked in to be barked at by a grumpy lady ‘ have you booked?’ We hadn’t so she tells us we must wait, the place was empty so I’m not sure why we had to wait, a 2nd rude waiter was called over who let us upstairs where we were the only people in a room that had 20+ tables. A long wait later he returned and took our order. It is overpriced for some average breakfast rolls. We then got ignored until we asked for the bill. We won’t return
Took a while to sort out as they don't usually open in the evs but they provided us with private dining at 7pm in the beautiful upstairs room which was just lovely. The food and service and were excellent. After dinner we had cocktails in the balloon bar which is a unique venue.. made my birthday celebratiion very memorable. We gad a great time glamping despite lots of rain!..would recommend) Thank you!
Amazing how this restaurant has turned around since it was taken over by Meadow Brown group . Great decor, amazing friendly staff and great food. Fantastic events organised in the Balloon bar too, my granddaughter absolutely loved the Cinderella event. Value for money too!
This restaurant is unique, however the staff are unfriendly and not welcoming. The coffee is decent and the cake is average. Overall, there is nothing particularly special about this place, but if you're looking for a spot for a coffee break, there isn't much competition. Réservez une table maintenant
